Volume is not a strategy.
Posting daily feels productive. But for most small businesses, it burns out the team, drains the content pipeline, and produces weaker work than a slower, more deliberate cadence would.
What we actually recommend
- 3-4 feed posts per week on Instagram and Facebook — enough to stay visible without diluting quality
- 4-8 short-form videos per week (Reels/TikTok) — this is where reach and discovery actually happen in 2026
- Daily Stories — low-effort, high-frequency, and the best channel for behind-the-scenes content
Why less-but-better wins
Platform algorithms reward engagement, not raw frequency. A single high-performing Reel will do more for your account than seven mediocre posts spread across a week. Quality compounds; noise doesn’t.
“The algorithm doesn’t reward the business that posts the most. It rewards the business that gets watched to the end.”
The real constraint: content supply.
Most “we should post more” conversations are actually “we need more raw content” conversations. This is why every one of our social media packages includes a dedicated monthly content shoot day — without a steady supply of real footage, no posting schedule is sustainable for long.
How to know if your cadence is working
- Are your top 3 posts each month meaningfully outperforming the rest? Good sign — the algorithm is rewarding your best work.
- Is engagement rate flat or declining as you post more? That’s a signal to slow down and raise the bar, not speed up.
- Are you still getting new followers from non-followers reach? If yes, discovery is working — protect that momentum with consistency, not volume.
